Love your mark of red, black and white. I had to pick Apocaypse because sometimes I think it rears it head for us to see.
Thanks for your support and interest in my early submissions as well.
Ghost of Market Past was taken in Amsterdam this last summer. We had gone to stockup on food and got the photo instead.
Many blessings to you in the New Year!

I love this.

SO MUCH EXPRESSION IN JUST ONE EYE. A few colours that create such a potent effect.

The turquoise tempest would never still,
and that was when I knew that no matter
how hard it was to look away that I would
always drown in the chaos created in
your eyes.

Your eyes were like nothing I've ever seen,
they were spry, ancient and so mischievous
yet mesmerizing and once locked onto that
poisonous gaze I could not feel myself
grounded anymore.

I was trapped, in the cage of those colours
that swirled relentlessly in glassy globes
that watched my every move, carefully
analyzing every step I took whether it
was wrong or right.

I could always feel the power of your
presence when those eyes bored into my
back and I knew that I was just the worm
on the fish hook and within you was the wave.

The sea would toss me to and fro, and your
emotions would rage like violent storms and
yet still bruised, battered and sometimes a
little charred to the core I longed to feel those
eyes upon me.

You were the wave that tangled me inside
the depths, and I was helpless falling into
your arms and over and over again into those
unrelentless eyes.

The pallette so cold that it drew frozen crystals
upon my lips, but at the same time soldered
me to the bone.

Freeze-dried. You left me. To freeze in time
and then burn in your eyes. I was the fire
that never left those irises that relfected the glaciers surrounding your supple skin.

My eyes could never match up to the superioirty
you held in the brush strokes across your lenses. And those lenses will shake me to eternity, and I would feel the ground cumble at my feet and laugh giddily.

The apocalypse would rage in your eyes and I
would never feel as safe as I did under the protection of your ruthless gaze.

I miss those crystals that would glint with
enigma and reflect those buriend secrets into mine. Yours was a gaze that was burnt into my retinas like the northern lights.

How I miss that gaze and the torment-filled chaos that came along with it. And, how I miss those charred lips that would rage terror across
my flesh.

Months pass and I gaze into the eyes of others, a hue of amethysts, azures, navys, topaz, honey browns, hazels, forest greens and still their lenses do not imprint upon mine as yours once did.

So, I feign the fire and I falsify the spark that is always too shallow and not deep enough to root itself inside my mind and brand itself upon my heart.

Those eyes are long gone, and yet still they are forever burnt into my retinas just like those ever-changing northern lights.

OMFG Twizzle, YOU ARE A MOFO GENIUS. I love you/life you ten times and over for giving me the inspiration and one of my most favourite lines ever is now embedded in a piece!!?!?!
[I guess I should do this before I place it in my gallery?] © to 2007 I guess!
